Drug Racket Probe: Actor Navadeep Appears Before SIT”

On the other hand, reports are doing rounds that a pub where Navdeep has significant partnership, is one of the hubs for drug trade in the city and that the actor had been organizing drug-infused parties to Tollywood celebs.

Navdeep would explain to the authorities and plead innocence in the drugs case when he presents himself before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the excise office on Monday. They were allegedly supplying high-end drugs like Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) and Methylenedioxy-Methamphetamine (MDMA), to several corporate school children and Tollywood celebrities. Tollywood actress Mumaith Khan, who is now participating in BiggBoss Telugu, is likely to be questioned on July 27, while another actress Charmee Kaur is likely to appear on July 28.

On Saturday, the investigators had grilled actor Tarun Kumar for over 13 hours, while Subba Raju and Puri Jagannadh too were questioned for over 10 hours earlier.

The film personalities were issued notices based on available information.

According to an official, drugs were delivered to the clients through the "Darknet" (a restricted online network frequently used in illegal activities). His blood, hair and nail samples were also collected by the doctors of Osmania Hospital. Names of some Telugu film personalities came out during the interrogation of those arrested.

The enforcement wing of the department has so far arrested 13 accused, including United States citizen Dundu Anish - an aerospace engineer who had earlier worked with the NASA, and seven B.Tech graduates, most of whom were working for multi-national companies. Navdeep was introduced to the big screen with the film "Jai" in 2004. He has also acted in a few Tamil films.
