Micromax unveils 'Selfie 2' smartphone at Rs 9999”

Indian brand Micromax has also jumped into selfie fray and launched today yet another affordable smartphone, Micromax Selfie 2 with 8MP front camera. This phone is priced Rs. 9,999 and will start selling from 1st August.

Coming to the aesthetics, the Micromax Selfie 2 at its price point offers a sleek metallic body with no home button in the front, and volume and power keys on the left edge. It also has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner which the company claims to be ultra-fast.

As mentioned, the Micromax Selfie 2 is priced at Rs. 9,999 and will be available via offline retailers from August 1.

Micromax is offering its 100 days replacement warranty scheme with the purchase of Selfie 2 smartphone. The company notes that this includes the one-year warranty period.

The device features an 8 MP Sony IMX135-based selfie camera with a f/2.0 lens. The front camera also supports features like "Real Time Bokeh Effect", "Wide Angle" shot and a "Blur Glass IR filter". The Selfie 2 has a MediaTek MT6737 SoC with a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Micromax Selfie 2 comes equipped with a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D display along with a feature that offers better visibility in the outdoors and low light as well.

The handset runs on Android Nougat out-of-the-box, meaning users will get to experience all the latest Android features like the multi-window view, reply in the notification panel, enhanced doze mode, and much more.

The Micromax Selfie 2 offers Truecaller integration and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, one that is rated to last for 11 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby time.

The device features "Gallery 4.0" that uses image and facial recognition technologies to allow to search for photos in the gallery by recognising a person's face. Connectivity options on the Selfie 2 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth, Dual SIM and Global Positioning System.
