Rockies acquire Jonathan Lucroy from the Rangers”

Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported on Sunday that a potential trade between the Rockies and the Texas Rangers that would send catcher Jonathan Lucroy to Colorado "has legs". The Rangers acquired him from the Brewers on August 1 previous year.

Lucroy has split duty behind the plate all season with Robinson Chirinos, and in some eyes, he has failed to live up to expectations in his first full season in Arlington. In 75 games, Lucroy is hitting.239 with four home runs and 26 RBIs. Production-wise, it's his worst season since his rookie campaign in 2010.

Last season, Lucroy hit a career-high 24 home runs as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers.

Colorado entered play on Sunday now in possession of a National League Wild Card spot, which would leave them in a one-game playoff in order to advance to the NLDS. Wolters has seen the lion's share of the work behind the dish, but owns a.651 OPS and has just nine extra-base hits and 14 RBI's in 66 games.

Lucroy is in the final year of his contract, and will be a free-agent at the end of the season.
