Statement related Kashmir's accession to another country untrue: AJK PM”

Following controversial remarks of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider about Kashmir's accession to Pakistan, political parties have been demanding action against him.

Declaring the report a conspiracy against the people of Kashmir and Pakistan, he said that Kashmiris support Pakistan.

AJK's Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider made his comments yesterday while addressing a joint press conference with Gilgit-Baltistan's chief minister.

He broke down in tears and said, "He (Imran Khan) insulted the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir who is elected by the public".

He continued as saying "I categorically repeat that the future of Pakistan is attached with a democratic Pakistan". His loyalty should be to Pakistan and the people of AJK.

"Kashmiris consider annexation with Pakistan a part of their faith and it's a matter of life and death for them" the statement added.

During a press conference, he said that they are patriots and do not believe in Imran Khan's Pakistan but rather the one formed by Quaid-e-Azam. He said that Nawaz Sharif had effectively highlighted the Kashmir issue at all fora, including the United Nations, for giving the Kashmiri people their legitimate right to self-determination.

Nawaz Sharif had also taken up the martyrdom of Burhan Wani at the UN General Assembly session in an effective manner, Prime Minister Haider pointed out. "I assure him that he will find me standing shoulder to shoulder as a party worker", he said.

Haider further said that he was extremely thankful to Nawaz Sharif for taking a lot of important decisions of far-reaching impacts related to the speedy progress and prosperity in Azad Jammu Kashmir. "Entire nation stands with Nawaz Sharif at present", he said. He added there were reservations over the verdict of the superior judiciary and these reservations would remain intact.
