Ref. NG/7B06

A former New York Giants tight end was arrested in Pennsylvania after police discovered 25 pounds of marijuana inside his vehicle. According to reports from August 5, 2017, police initiated a traffic stop on a Monday and found the drugs packaged in numerous large bags inside the vehicle. The former player faced charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, intent to deliver marijuana, and an unspecified traffic violation.

When bail was being debated, the player told police officers that he was a former NFL player who was working toward a comeback to secure a roster spot for the upcoming season. He subsequently posted 10 percent of his $15,000 bail, according to the Daily Item.

The player previously played college football for Cincinnati before the New York Giants selected him in the 2012 draft. His professional career featured limited playing time, and he appeared in 16 games with only one start over three seasons. According to a player profile on Rotoworld, the Giants waived him prior to the 2015 season. Although he signed a reserve contract with the New York Jets in 2016, he was released in May of that year and had not played in the league since.
