'Locked and loaded' Trump has secret channel to North Korea”

President Donald Trump hinted the defense system still needs beefing up on Thursday when he told reporters the US will be spending billions more on them. Kim Jong Un has radically accelerated the pace of the North's missile development, and many experts believe it could have an intercontinental ballistic missile able to hit major American cities within a year or two.

"I think escalating the rhetoric is the wrong answer". He did not elaborate on Russia's joint plan with China, though the pair's position on North Korea has long consisted of formally voicing opposition to North Korea's nuclear ambitions but also to US military support for its allies in the region. Trump expressed hope that the USA would not have to use this "power", but remained confident in the strength of the country.

"You know what, that could looks so handsome to me", Trump said.

The problem is the president and the mixed messages that his team is sending.

In the same speech, Trump said he'd favor talks with the hostile nation and more action on the diplomatic front than his White House predecessors.

"We consider the more than a lump which we can beat to a jelly any time", the Korean Central News Agency said, quoting Institute of International Studies researcher Kang Kum Chol.

"I am very disappointed in China", Trump tweeted.

While Beijing has made its displeasure at Pyongyang's nuclear tests and missile launches, it has also complained about joint military exercises carried out by the US and South Korea as they escalate tensions.

It said Mr. Trump looks forward to a "very historic" meeting with Mr. Xi in China later this year. We will no longer allow this to continue.

After threatening this week to unleash "fire and fury" on North Korea if it tries to attack the USA, president Donald Trump has again cranked up his bellicose rhetoric saying "there are no mixed messages" and suggesting that perhaps his earlier warning "wasn't tough enough".

Given Trump's comments about the Asian-Pacific countries, Klingner said there is "concern among our allies about uncertainty". It could also have a chilling psychological impact on allies like Japan and South Korea, which might seek to build up their own nuclear forces independently of Washington. The current situation differs from previous periods of increased tension in that both sides are making substantial and specific threats to strike the other if perceived necessary.

"Korean trade with China alone likely amounted to more than $5.8 billion in 2016 after rising by a factor of more than 10 since 2000".

Earlier this week, Korean Central Television, a media outlet of the North, reported that North Korean youths and students were holding a string of rallies nationwide to make public their wish to enter the military.

In a readout of the call between Trump and Macron, the two North Atlantic Treaty Organisation leaders promised to work together to enforce the new round of sanctions passed by the U.N. Security Council last week.

North Korea has previously taken military actions that resulted in death on a small scale, but used ordinary conventional weapons. Granted, North Korea's security issues vis-à-vis the USA are legitimate and it has every right to express itself as it pleases, but it's just that its characteristic over-the-top style is counterproductive both for its own interests and those of its multipolar partners.
