Britain's best-paid TV star, Bruce Forsyth, dies after illness”

Whilst he is now perhaps best know as the presenter of Strictly Come Dancing, Forsyth has appeared in many British comedy programmes.

He then tirelessly continued to tour the country, until he was given his big break hosting "Sunday Night At The London Palladium" nearly 20 years later.

The former host of "Strictly Come Dancing" and "The Generation Game" had stopped TV hosting in recent years due to ill health.

The well known TV personality Sir Bruce Forsyth, has sadly died at the age of 89 today.

Born in Middlesex in 1928, Forsyth started his long career in showbiz aged just 14 with an act called "Boy Bruce, the Mighty Atom", in which he would sing, dance and play the accordion.

Between 2004 to 2014, he presented BBC One's Strictly with Tess Daly.

"A couple of weeks ago, a friend visited him and asked him what he had been doing these last 18 months".

"With a twinkle in his eye, he responded 'I've been very, very busy. being ill!'"

Our thoughts go out to Sir Bruce's family and friends at this hard time.

"One of Britain's greatest ever entertainers & a lovely man".

Forsyth underwent surgery for two aneurysms past year following a fall in his Surrey home.

"I've never seen anyone quite like him when it comes to performing in front of a crowd".

"He has been part of all of our lives, and we'll miss him dearly".
