Trump fires chief strategist Steve Bannon

Trump fires chief strategist Steve Bannon”

Bannon's time with Trump administration ended on Friday, and it's unclear as to if he resigned or was sacked.

After his ouster from the West Wing on Friday, ex-White House chief strategist Steve Bannon declared the Trump presidency that his brand of populist, right-wing conservatives helped make a reality is "over".

Bannon, who has been accused of voicing white supremacist views, something he denies, is the latest high-profile departure from the White House, following National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, chief of staff Reince Priebus, and press secretary Sean Spicer. Bannonites dislike "the generals" as much as they hate Kushner and the "New York Democrats" - but it seems an alliance between both has done for Bannon and, perhaps, his agenda.

"The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over". It'll be something else.

He reportedly said the United States president's administration would "be much more conventional" because of his departure.

Bannon, the former head of the right-wing site Breitbart News, has been under fire since he began working for the Trump campaign past year.

Bannon, 63, is a former US Navy officer, Hollywood movie producer and Goldman Sachs investment banker.

The Brietbart News editor did not leave in a whimper, however, telling The Weekly Standard shortly after his dismissal that he's finally "free" to 'crush the opposition'.

The White House, though, has gone under a great deal of upheaval in the short time since Trump took office, with several key players either being fired or resigning, but Bossie said Bannon's leaving won't change what has happened in the past. "We are grateful for his service and wish him the best", Sanders said in a statement on Friday.

Bannon has returned to his role as executive chairman to Breitbart News, a position he held before joining Trump's campaign.

Bill Maher is flabbergasted as to why people can't keep their jobs in the White House anymore. His natural tendency - and I think you saw it this week on Charlottesville - his actual default position is the position of his base, the position that got him elected.

"I built a f***ing machine at Breitbart", Bannon said following his departure.
