Nintendo Switch Online App Update Version 1.1.0 Introduces Voice Chat Improvements

Nintendo Switch Online App Update Version 1.1.0 Introduces Voice Chat Improvements”

You can switch to other apps and continue chatting with your teammates, and even lock your phone to save it from burning battery or cutting your chat off in the middle of a crucial match.

Many were upset to learn that voice chat would only work if the Nintendo Switch Online app was open in the forefront and would suspend the voice chat if switching to another app or even turning the screen off. In addition to voice chat improvements and bug fixes, the Google Play Store mentions that Bluetooth support for devices has also been improved.

Voice chat will now continue during sleep mode.

The Nintendo Switch Online app, the smart phone app responsible for allowing voice chat on Switch, just received two very significant changes.

Good news - the awful Switch online app for voice chat now passes the bare minimum requirements you could reasonably expect!

(*2) If the power-saving feature is activated on devices using Android 6.0 or later, voice chat may be interrupted after the device has entered sleep mode.

The Switch Online App is now free until Nintendo's paid online subscription service launches next year.
