Jake Livermore given extended break by West Bromwich Albion”

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jake Livermore has reassured fans that he is perfectly fine amid concerns over his absence.

The 27-year-old made his home debut in the goalless draw with West Ham at the weekend and was one of the only bright spots in an otherwise poor showing by Albion.

Livermore moved to reassure anxious supporters that all was well via his Twitter account on Monday morning.

He will also miss Wednesday's EFL Cup tie against Manchester City, but Pulis hopes the England global will be fit to face Arsenal on 25 September.

"I hadn't had this time in the summer due to worldwide duties and then myself wanting to do a full pre-season with my then new team-mates".

The first change sees Allan Nyom come in for Kieran Gibbs at left-back, while the other sees Hal Robson-Kanu replace Jay Rodriguez up front after the former Southampton man struggled to get into the game against the Hammers.

"He has felt a little bit jaded, mentally more than anything else".

"We could have done with his energy today with the way the game went".

Pulis said: "Physically Jake is fine but mentally he just feels a little bit exhausted".

When asked if he could move further up the field, Pulis added: "That is what we want and if you speak to him I think that is what he wants as well. I think he'll be a top player for us". "He won't play on Wednesday, but hopefully he will be ready to face Arsenal on the Monday".

Livermore, who joined West Brom from Hull City in January, tested positive for cocaine in 2015 and escaped a ban after the FA ruled there were "specific and unique" circumstances relating to the death of his baby son Jake Jr.
