Lockyer Valley Man to Face Court Charged with Murder

Lockyer Valley Man to Face Court Charged with Murder”

A Queensland man who allegedly stabbed to death a German tourist after an early-morning argument on a major inner-Brisbane road will remain in custody. Police said the 30-year-old German tourist and his friend were walking along Milton Road after a night out around 4am but were stopped after a man nearly ran into them.

The Lockyer Valley man will appear in a Brisbane court today.

It is believed that the German backpacker and a friend were trying to cross the road on Petrie Terrace, Milton when the incident happened.

Jamie Saxon has been charged with murder over the Milton Road stabbing.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and the German man was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital but passed away later that day.

Another woman, believed to be in the auto at the time of the attack, refused to comment but is cooperating with police.

As he has been charged with murder, Saxon was unable to apply for bail when he came before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

He will reappear in court on November 6.
