Destiny 2 Won't Fix Raid Exploit Before Prestige Mode Release

Earlier this week, Bungie delayed the release of the Leviathan Prestige Raid because an exploit was discovered in the game.

According to Bungie, fixing the exploit would put the Prestige Mode at greater risk, so the team has chose to delay the patch but still launch the difficulty tier. Bungie community manager DeeJ addressed the issue direct at the end up the update, indicating the the team is aware of the heated discussion and will have more to say soon. They don't want to fix the exploit and risk breaking other parts of the game.

Bungie has, for obvious reasons, never spelled out what this exploit is - but it is believed to be a way to stop additional enemies spawning during the raid's final boss encounter. There's a danger that fixing the glitch could actually break the raid for teams trying to complete it legitimately, which could hurt some World's First teams.

So, look forward to the Prestige raid mode when it arrives next week. We don't want to make you wait any longer to experience what the raid team has cooked up for those of you who enjoy a challenge worthy of your talents. The developer then acknowledges the key complaint: "One thing we have noticed is a lot of discussions about the Endgame and how it can be improved".

"A safe fix is still being investigated for this issue".

If you have your preferred console set to download updates automatically, you should be fine when you go to play later on today. However, the Raid isn't going to be delayed again-Bungie found a way to verify that teams did not use the exploit to complete the Raid. As part of the studio's weekly update post, it writes: "We're reading as much of your chatter as we possibly can". This will take some extra time to verify, but we will be able to crown the winners with the confidence they deserve.
