Baby AJ, who was denied his dad's kidney, rushed to a hospital

Baby AJ, who was denied his dad's kidney, rushed to a hospital”

The two-year-old boy in Georgia who was denied a kidney transplant because the donor, his father, violated his probation, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday morning because of an abdominal infection. The child was born without kidneys and was rushed to Egleston Sunday for treatment of a stomach infection.

The story about a 2-year-old left waiting for a kidney transplant after his dad violated his probation has gained worldwide attention. Dickerson is said to be the only 100 percent match for his son.

He added that the cost outside the state would be very different from what Baby A.J.'s family is now experiencing. "AJ's spirit is strong but his body is not". The hospital declined to comment on Dickerson's case.

"That's all I ever wanted was a son", Dickerson was quoted as saying by local media outlet WGCL-TV.

"What do he [AJ] got to do with the mistakes I made?" He said 'Why?' We need you to be on good behavior for three to four months before you can give your son the kidney.

According to news reports, Emory Hospital chose to delay the October 3 transplant surgery after they found out A.J.'s father, Anthony Dickerson, was arrested last month for weapons possession.

"We will reevaluate Mr. Dickerson in January 2018 after receipt of his completed documentation", the letter stated, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Emory Universiry Hospital in Atlanta, GA is refusing to allow the boy to receive a kidney from his father because of a parole violation. In the meantime, A.J. continues to fight for his life. His family shared this picture of him in his hospital bed.

"I went through the psychological, health screening, and went in to see if I was a match for my friend's Dad", says one message "He ended up receiving a kidney a week before my surgery". They could probably just send the results.

"Guidelines for organ transplantation are created to maximize the chance of success for organ recipients and minimize risk for living donors", Janet Christenbury, an Emory spokeswoman, said.
