The Daily Mail have reported that Pardew's representatives and the Gers hierarchy have held tentative contact between the two since they chose to sack the under achieving Pedro Caixinha last week.

The 56-year-old has been working as a pundit for Sky Sports - and according to the report favours a return to the Premier League - but has now emerged as a surprise contender to replace Caixinha.
