Kaetlyn Osmond wins bronze at Internationaux de France figure skating event”

World silver medalist Shoma Uno finished runner-up in the men's short program Friday at the Internationaux de France, the fifth event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series.

"I am not very pleased with my short programme, because not everything worked out, but I am pleased with the free skating, because I did everything to the maximum", Zagitova said.

Alina Zagitova roared back from fifth place after the short program to win the gold and provide Russian Federation a 1-2 finish with 213.80 points.

"The short program was on a different day, today was new day, I started from scratch and tried to go out with a cool head".

Canada's Kaetlyn Osmond led after the free but slipped to third overall on 137.72 points after falling on a triple loop attempt.

Two-time world champion Javier Fernandez had problems with his jumps and fell twice during his free program but his big lead in the short has been enough to secure victory in the men's competition.

Sotskova's performance to "Clair de lune" by Claude Debussy included a triple Lutz-triple toe combination, five more triple jumps, as well as two double Axels.

Misha Ge of Uzbekistan took third place with 258.34 points. "I didn't think I would be able to execute my jumps". This marks their fourth consecutive Grand Prix Final appearance after they won the silver medal in 2014 and 2015 and finished in sixth place previous year.

The Spaniard led the group by a large margin, finishing nearly 14 points ahead of second-place finisher Shoma Uno of Japan, who fell on his quad flip at the start of his program. France's Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, the 2015 and 2016 world champions, took the gold medal (201.98).

Russia's Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov, the bronze medallists at this year's world championships, finished first in the pairs with 77.84 points despite being out of sync in the step sequence at the end of their short programme.

Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron of France took the gold with 201.98, Madison Chock and Evan Bates of the United States were second at 181.85 and Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin of Russian Federation were third at 177.24.
