He's since landed at Boise State before following Chris Petersen to the Pac-12.

The 38-year-old Smith has been at Washington since 2014, where he's been the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Despite calling the rumors of him taking the head coaching job in Corvallis "flattering, " he wound up focused on his current club.

Dennis Ericksons name has surfaced in connection to the vacant head football coaching position at Oregon State. Cory Hall has been the interim coach since.
