Angelina and Brad tried to save their marriage with 'By the Sea'

Angelina and Brad tried to save their marriage with 'By the Sea'”

But there was a heaviness probably during that situation that carried on, and it wasn't because of the film, " Jolie lamented.

She continued: 'It was something that we were dealing. things happen for different reasons, and things. why did I write that exact piece? Why did we feel the way about it we did when we made it?

Like Pitt in real life apparently, Roland drinks to much and tries to write, while Jolie stares out at the sea, smokes a lot of cigarettes and looks attractive but sad over infertility issues. It's by the sea, obviously. Set in the 1970s France, Jolie plays Vanessa, a former dancer, and Pitt is Roland, a successful writer. Did the extra communication end up dooming the couple?

So, is Jolie saying that she was trying to get Pitt to face up to his drinking problem by writing him a character with one?

Now, looking in hindsight a year after announcing their divorce, Jolie notes a certain "heaviness" was present while filming By the Sea. "I'm not sure", Jolie said.

She said: 'Sometimes maybe it appears I am pulling it all together.

During her new interview, the actress questioned why she wrote and directed a movie that dealt with such heavy issues.

'A piece of art can be something that's healing or something that's hard. I don't know. I'm glad we did that film because we did explore something together.

She separated with Brad in 2016 but thought that the film could have a positive impact on their relationship by working on a big project together.

"It's so hard to explain yourself when you're still a mystery to yourself". I thought it could be a good way for us to communicate. It never answered everything for me. But then we get over it and go back to whatever the fuck we were doing. I make choices because I still wasn't me.

"I feel on top of the world by the few tweaks that I went through. There's life to be lived and we needed some space to do so and help each other grow".

"I've had such a dramatic change that girlfriends I hadn't seen in a while couldn't stop staring, and said they wanted to cry". I thought I had expressed what I could and wanted to figure out who else I was. "Nobody in my life has ever stood by me more". And I don't know... I had my mastectomy right before I had Unbroken.

And was that a good thing? "I was completely unhappy".
