Predicted Celtic side to play Partick Thistle: Ajer and Kouassi should start”

The reigning Scottish Premiership champions welcome Partick Thistle to Celtic Park on Wednesday evening for their penultimate clash before Christmas and there are likely to be a few changes as Rodgers looks to shake off the dust after his side were overrun by an impressive Hearts team last time out.

Celtic is just two points clear of second-place Aberdeen in the league standings, with a game in hand.

But skipper Brown has dismissed fatigue as not an issue.

It was the first taste of Scottish defeat for Rodgers, who has won four successive trophies since arriving at Celtic Park past year, as his side also failed to score for the first time in 74 domestic matches.

Brown heaped praise on his manager Rodgers, who joined at the start of the 2016/17 season.

"The things we have done have never been done before and probably will never be done again".

Brown said: "We have had the same season as past year, nine games in December, and we came through that and I think we went unbeaten and that was in the Champions League as well".

"It's been fantastic, every single game since the manager has come in", he said.

"He's been a breath of fresh air to every Celtic fan and every player that's come in, too".

"It's not about fatigue with us, it was just about one game and it is slightly disappointing".

But the Northern Irishman, whose side eclipsed their own British record when they reached 63 matches without defeat last month, revealed his pride in his players' historic run."I need to give credit to Hearts on their victory, it was thoroughly deserved", Rodgers said."But I also want to say congratulations to my players. We couldn't get the ball down but that is due to Hearts pressing high up the park, putting us under pressure and the pitch maybe not being as good as it should be".
