5-Star OL Cade Mays Commits To Georgia Over Clemson, Ohio State”

Five-star offensive lineman Cade Mays of Knoxville, TN (Knoxville Catholic) has committed to Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. His father and uncle both played for Tennessee. Amid uncertainty about the future of coach Butch Jones, Mays de-committed on November 7. He announced his commitment to Georgia on Wednesday, the first day of college football's new Early Signing Period.

Mays is the flawless fit for Georgia's offensive scheme, he's a relentless mauler on the offensive line and already has the type of size, drive and athleticism that you can't coach. The Bulldogs topped Clemson and Ohio State for his signature. The Bulldogs now have the nation's No. 2 overall recruiting class according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The U.S. Army All-American will compete in the Army All-American Bowl in January in Texas before heading to Georgia to enroll.

And the figurative: Mays is an elite prospect all the way around.

Mays also took his final official visit to Georgia. Perhaps the Tigers made their move too quickly and in the end it led to Georgia getting the last shot at Mays and enabled them to nab him away.
