White House aide escorted out by security after CNN interview

White House aide escorted out by security after CNN interview”

Wolff is making the interview rounds, and gave an nearly unwatchable interview to Morning Joe on Monday morning-unwatchable because I'd forgotten how nauseatingly self-absorbed Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are; they barely let Wolff answer one maundering question after another.

White House senior adviser Stephen Miller in a new interview continued to blast CNN, one day after he got into a heated on-air exchange with host Jake Tapper before he was ultimately escorted off the set.

Miller, whose Sunday appearance on the show was praised by President Donald Trump despite it ending in Tapper cutting him off, claimed he was not dragged out of CNN and slammed the channel for having "low journalistic standards".

For his part, Trump described the interview entirely differently, suggesting Tapper had been "destroyed" by Miller, also referring to CNN as a fake news network, as he has done on previous occasions.

Miller was asked to leave the set multiple times but refused, after which security stepped in and escorted him off the "State of the Union" set, a CNN employee confirmed to The Hill. "After refusing to leave, he was escorted out by security", the CNN source told CBS News.

Mr Miller's interview on CNN's State of the Union quickly grew heated, with Mr Miller criticising CNN's coverage and moderator Jake Tapper accusing Mr Miller of speaking to an audience of one: his boss.

Miller, whose permanent affect is that of a peeved possum wedged into a shiny suit, had been dispatched from the White House to defend the President's honor, such as it is. "Stephen, there is one viewer you care about right now, and you're being obsequious and a factotum in order to please him".

Mr Tapper abruptly ended the interview, saying: "I think I've wasted enough of my viewers' time". He urged his followers to "watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!" It would be great if more TV news outlets did the same whenever the White House sends out the same talking heads to make the same points, over and over and over again.

On NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Wolff defended his book, explaining how he got access to key administration players inside the Trump White House.

He added, "The book is best understood as a work of very poorly written fiction".
