CES: Power cut at major Las Vegas electronics show”

The lights are out in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Power went out around 11:15 a.m. local time, just as the day was ramping up.

The giant consumer electronics show CES has suffered a power cut, plunging part of the event into darkness.

CNET's Tim Stevens reports the power also flickered at the Cosmopolitan Hotel across town.

A little over an hour later, the CES Twitter account said they had "been informed by Nevada Power that the outage has been addressed and they are in the process of restoring power".

Now in its 51st year, CES is expected to attract more than 180,000 visitors and will include over 4000 exhibitors across its nearly 241,000sqm of show floor.
