Hospital Under Fire For Leaving Patient Out In The Cold

Hospital Under Fire For Leaving Patient Out In The Cold”

The man who posted the video said it was just 30 degrees out, and challenged hospital staff. He saw the hospital's security guards wheel the woman to the bus stop and leave her there along with bags of belongings, reports say. Management seems poised to blame specific hospital staff for this decision, and promise that the investigation will set the matter straight.

The staff members' replies are not clearly heard, but one of them appeared to say, "She was medically cleared". He adds that the temperature was nearly 30 degrees outside.

She was wearing a hospital gown and socks, with temperatures in the low 30s.

"Are you unable to speak?"

The woman in the video was obviously very confused. "This woman was placed in the city of Baltimore, in the dead of night, in the cold, vulnerable, exposed", he told CBS affiliate WJZ-TV. "She lets out this kind of cry".

"While there are many circumstances of this patient's case that we can not address publicly, in the end we clearly failed to fulfill our mission with this patient, no matter the circumstances of her case or the quality of the clinical care we provided in the hospital (which is not depicted in the video)". "I'm going to be on a holy reign of terror demanding some answers here", she wrote.

In another video, Baraka said he called 911 and watched paramedics take the woman back inside the hospital.

A review is now being conducted into the incident and disciplinary action could be taken against the employees involved.

Management of the University of Maryland Medical Center responded to the video the next day, stating that they felt just as shocked as the people who had been sharing the news, and that they have "failed their mission" regarding the patient in question.
