Nigel Farage: Maybe we should have a second European Union referendum”

Nigel Farage has said "maybe" there should be a second referendum on European Union membership to "kill off" any suggestion that it's not what the British public really want.

He said: "What is for certain is that the Cleggs, the Blairs, the Adonises will never, ever, ever give up". They will go on whingeing, and whining, and moaning.

"So maybe just maybe I am reaching the point of thinking we should have a second referendum. on European Union membership".

Mr Blair launched a major intervention in the Brexit debate earlier this month as he published a lengthy article setting out his own blueprint for withdrawal in which he also accused Jeremy Corbyn of adopting a have "cake and eat it" approach to the issue which was "mistaken". The percentage that would vote to leave next time would be very much bigger. "Fucking get it done and let's move on".

United Kingdom politician Nigel Farage - an outspoken supporter of Brexit - has said it might be time to hold a second referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union.

"And Blair can disappear off into total obscurity".

Labour MP Chuka Umunna, a leading supporter of the pro-Remain Open Britain group, said: "For perhaps the first time in his life, Nigel Farage is making a valid point".

"Every day we see the disaster of Brexit it as we see it's impact on our economy, jobs, communities and our society", he said.

Host Matthew Wright asked whether Farage wanted a referendum on the "whole thing", which led to Farage suggesting a "multiple choice referendum" would "confuse people". "Him and his Brexiteer allies have zero idea of what would come next". What will the leave campaign bus have written on it next time: "let's not fund our NHS, but pay a £39bn Brexit divorce bill instead?"

Mr Farage argued that the proportion voting for Brexit would be larger than the 52 per cent who voted Leave in June 2016.

Tony Blair, the former Labour prime minister, Nick Clegg, the former Liberal Democrat leader, and Lord Adonis, the Labour peer, have all been vocal critics of Brexit.
