NSW man discovers red-bellied black snake wrapped around vehicle mirror”

Australian drivers are pretty well acquainted with the startlement of finding spiders tagging along for a vehicle ride, but Ted Ogier from the state of New South Wales got something even more dramatic just the other day.

The pair believed the snake to be around 2.5 metres long and said the serpent was probably just wanted somewhere warm to sleep.

The startled serpent had probably been snuggled up to the engine for warmth on a chilly night, and slithered out from under the hood of the pick-up truck to wrap around the driver's side mirror.

Ted Ogier was running a delivery for his employer Nolans Auto Parts near Eden when the snake slithered out from under the bonnet, the ABC reports.

A NSW South Coast driver has received a slippery surprise, after a red-bellied black snake scaled his window while he was driving near Eden.

Despite Mr Ogier continuing his journey, the snake didn't budge, prompting Mr Ogier to soon pull his auto over and call his boss, hoping he'd know how to get rid of the snake.

"What do I do here? I have a snake on my bonnet!" And Ogier told the ABC that he can imagine worse passengers.

Since the photos were posted to Nolan's Facebook page around 1pm Wednesday, they have already been shared more than 260 times and attracted a similar number of comments.

Horrified punters have commented saying they would abandon the vehicle and set it on fire if it happened to them.

Last year, Pearse and his staff witnessed and helped remove a kangaroo that entered their store.

Reflecting on the auto parts store's animal encounters, Pearse said "2017 was the year of the kangaroo, 2018 is the year of the snake".
