Rodney Hood fined $35000 for slapping phone out of fan's hand”

The NBA has fined Rodney Hood $35,000 for slapping a phone out of the hand of a fan after he was ejected from Wednesday night's game.

Hood was ejected for arguing with an official on Wednesday in a game against the Washington Wizards.

The fan appeared to be taking a photo or video of the 6-foot-8 guard's exit from the court. Hood exited, but not before accounting for seven points, six boards and a pair of assists across 15 minutes.

Three other players this season - Kyrie Irving, DeMarcus Cousins and Austin Rivers - have been fined due to interacting with fans. Today, he got his answer as the National Basketball Association officially announced that his interaction with a fan in Washington earlier in the week will cost him $35,000.

The NBA did end up going after Hood's wallet, and in no small way.

The Jazz eventually edged the Wizards 107-104.

In 32 games this season, the 25-year old guard is averaging 16.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

The Jazz, 17-24, will be in Charlotte tonight to take on the Hornets and Hood is expected to play as usual.
