Alexa voice commands are finally coming to the Android Alexa app”

Alexa is coming to your phone. It will arrive as an update to the existing Alexa mobile app.

This update brings user support for Alexa skills with voice as well as remote control for connected home devices.

It has become common to find virtual assistants such as Alexa from Amazon in various apparatus including washing machine, smart speakers, and smartphones among other electronics. That changes today on Android and on iOS soon.

An update for the Alexa app for Android was given an update this morning with support for Alexa voice interaction.

The free app will provide hourly updates and sends pictures of wanted and missing people to the user's device. It was capable of showing us the weather, looking up nearby restaurants, adding items into our Amazon shopping cart, and telling jokes.

While Amazon has partnered with a few smartphone manufacturers like HTC to include Alexa built-in, it has been hard for Amazon's smart assistant to gain ground on Google Assistant when it comes to handsets. Numerous initial reviews of Amazon's Echo Show focused on the device's capabilities as a hands-free helper in the kitchen, where people could ask to see videos like cooking how-to's while they their hands were full with other tasks. Earlier this month, Amazon said the voice assistant is coming to PCs. However, it didn't bring control of devices like smart door locks.
