UberEATS driver accused of killing customer to turn himself in”

The Atlanta Police Department's homicide unit has obtained an arrest warrant for 36-year old Robert Bivines on the charge of felony murder.

An Uber Eats driver accused of killing a customer after delivering food to the man's home over the weekend turned himself in Monday, authorities said. As he was walking away from the driver, some words were exchanged between the two.

He fired several shots from his auto, hitting Thornton multiple times and fled in a white Volkswagen, Atlanta police told NPR.

The driver fired several shots before fleeing the scene in a white Volkswagen.

Officers responded to the scene about 11:30 p.m. Saturday as the victim was being rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

An Uber spokesperson said the company was "shocked and saddened" by the event, and are cooperating with Atlanta police in the investigation.

Charlie Nash is a reporter for Breitbart Tech. He faces a murder charge and is being held in Fulton county jail. NBC's 11Alive reports that the victim, who had recently graduated Morehouse College with a degree in political science, was his mother's only son, whose husband passed away three years earlier. The food was delivered to Thornton's condo around 11:30pm, and that's when witnesses said they heard gunshots from the delivery auto. Food delivery driver sought in Georgia shooting.

Bivines was able to start working for the company, which does background tests, because it only tracks criminal records back as far as seven years. Uber drivers aren't allowed to carry guns, per the company's policy.

Now, Bivines remains silent by the suggestions of his legal representation, who has been handling all the questions posed as they arrived at the Atlanta Police Department this morning.
