Ja Rule Joins Protest Against NYC's Poor Public Housing Conditions”

- Hip-hop superstar Ja Rule stayed true to his word and joined NYCHA residents and their leaders, along with concerned City Council members, to demand equal treatment on humanitarian issues like heat, hot water, and safe living conditions.

"Let's come out and let's fight this cause first". "Let's shut this city down".

Council members Ritchie Torres (D-Bronx) and Alicka Ampry-Samuel (D- Brooklyn) joined the singer and about 30 NYCHA residents in calling for the city to speed up its funding and repairs to aging heating systems. No heat, no hot water?

"We agree with the sentiments expressed by the Councilmembers and speakers this morning that the conditions at NYCHA - due to severe mismanagement by the City - are unacceptable". We ain't paying no more rent until this situation is dealt with. "No money, no rent", he said during the press conference.

"We are here because the City of NY has been exposed as the worst landlord in the United States", the City Council's Oversight and Investigations Chair Ritchie Torres said.

Ja Rule recently joined hundreds of New York City residents in a protest at City Hall on February 20. Atkins, who arrived 23 minutes into the rally, called out the mayor and the governor for leaving tenants in "Third World conditions". "I think the next step is for NYCHA to give us answers".

"I was raised in public housing, my mom worked two to three jobs to try and feed us", he explained during a panel on the Housing Authority on FOX5 earlier this month. We want to know: "Where does this go from here?" he added.

"We hope today's rally will highlight the catastrophic cuts proposed by the Trump administration and the need to support public housing as a vital resource", she said in a statement. Ja Rule said to a hyped up crowd. "This is all part of a bigger plan, that I feel, they have to push these residents out of their homes, and bring in private housing".
