US 'locked and loaded' to strike Syria again if new attack: Haley”

Haley has been one of Russia's fiercest critics in the United Nations, saying its cover-ups for Syria are a "travesty, ' and she said Saturday Russia should take a "hard look" at the company it keeps".

One clear takeaway from Haley's remarks was how she repeatedly called out Russian Federation on multiple fronts: for their "disinformation campaign" following the strike and for their repeated Security Council vetoes on past Syria resolutions.

Haley said the United States was confident that the military strikes had crippled Syria's chemical weapons program.

"While Russia was busy protecting the regime, Assad took notice", Haley said. "They were the result of the Syrian regime's barbaric inhumanity".

Saturday, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that "the time for talk ended last night." at a special meeting of the UN Security Council and that "the United States is locked and loaded", if "the Syrian regime is foolish enough to test our will".

The ambassador reiterated that it wasn't an empty threat because when Trump draws a red line, he enforces that red line.

Watch above, via Fox News. "It deters further attacks; it degrades the ability of the Syrian regime to conduct new attacks; and it's a way to support the ban on chemical weapons".

"The pictures of dead children were not fake news", Haley told the United Nations security council on Saturday. He also described the use of chemical weapons as "abhorrent" and called on the Security Council to agree on a dedicated mechanism to assure accountability for chemical weapons use in Syria.

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons on Saturday launched an investigation into the alleged chemical strike in Douma.

Haley's United Kingdom counterpart, Julian Braithwaite, said the strike was "limited, targeted, and successful"-and justified".

The U.K. government earlier published its legal justification for the strikes, which stated: "The permitted under global law, on an exceptional basis, to take measures in order to alleviate overwhelming humanitarian suffering". "The US is the possessor of the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons and has no moral right to blame other countries", it goes on to say.

Guterres said the Security Council has primary responsibility for the maintenance of global peace and security and called on the members of the Security Council to unite and exercise that responsibility. If the law is ignored, it is undermined. There is no military solution to the crisis. "The solution must be political". "It is our common duty to stop it".

In coordination with Britain and France, Trump ordered air strikes against Bashar al-Assad's chemical weapons infrastructure Friday night.

'Russia was supposed to guarantee Assad would not use chemical weapons, and Russian Federation did the opposite.

There were also immediate questions about whether the current strike was tempered to avoid escalating a conflict with Syria's military patrons - Russian Federation and Iran.

Russia, which supports the Assad regime, called the operation an "act of aggression" that violated the "norms and principles of worldwide law", and warned of "consequences" for the U.S.
