Trump brings British knife attacks into United States gunfight - and upsets Londoners again”

US President Donald Trump has caused outrage in France and the United Kingdom by suggesting that more relaxed gun laws could have prevented the 2015 Paris attacks and subdued rising knife crime in London.

US President Donald Trump gestures after speaking at a National Rifle Association (NRA) convention in Dallas, Texas, US Saturday.

He told the audience, "Nobody has guns in Paris and we all remember more than 130 people, plus tremendous numbers of people that were horribly, horribly wounded".

In response the French government expressed disapproval of Mr Trump's comments and demanded "that the memory of the victims be respected" in a statement.

He suggested sarcastically that countries that ban guns "should ban cars too", because they are "the new form of death for the maniac terrorists".

Trump also slammed the gun laws in the United Kingdom, saying they did nothing to save people from becoming the targets of knife attacks.

To add to the woes, Trump also mimicked the terrorists and said: "Boom". Boom, come over here.

Terrorists armed with assault rifles and suicide vests struck outside a France-Germany football match at the national stadium, cafes and bars, and the Bataclan concert hall in a coordinated assault that left 130 people dead and more than 350 wounded.

"Every country freely decides on its own laws on carrying firearms, as in other areas".

The November 2015 attacks by gunman loyal to the ISIS terror group were the worst in France's history and left the capital and wider country deeply traumatised.

"The shameful comments and obscene antics of Donald Trump say a lot about what he thinks about France and her values", Hollande in a statement in French obtained by France 24. "What more can I say?".

Trump, who is due to visit Britain on July 13, told NRA members that a "once very prestigious" London hospital, which he did not name, had become overwhelmed with victims of knife attacks. "They have knives and instead there's blood all over the floors of this hospital", he said.

Comments by Trump have caused upset before in Britain. A spike in knife crime earlier this year ensured London had more murders than NY in February and March.

Even Dr. Griffiths responded to Trump's speech, lamenting the POTUS had missed the point.

In a statement, Karim Brohi, director of London's major trauma system and a trauma surgeon at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, East London, said his hospital had "cut the number of our young patients returning after further knife attacks from 45 percent to 1 percent".

'They don't have guns. "Gunshot wounds are at least twice as lethal as knife injuries and more hard to fix".
