Russia: Pence urges Mueller to end investigation - 'Time to wrap it up'”

Vice President Mike Pence urged special counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday to end his investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation during the 2016 election.

Pence was asked what he thought of Mueller, with NBC's Andrea Mitchell inquiring if he believed the former FBI director and federal prosecutor was a "bad guy" or if he would also label the investigation a "witch hunt".

Pence said the Trump administration has "fully cooperated" with Mueller's probe, including turning over more than 1 million documents.

He continued: "You remember everybody in the fake news, when they were saying he's going to get us into a nuclear war?"

"I have begun to think back to the deputy attorney general who controls the magnitude and scope and timing of this investigation is as dire as it is to Bob Muller", Blumenthal continued.

But Trump fears Mueller's operation is biased against him: "We have 13 people and they're all Democrats - real Democrats".

"That's not Vice President Mike Pence's decision to make", Graham, a South Carolina Republican, said. It's nearly like the man on trial for murder with the evidence stacked against him, telling the judge "Your Honor I think we should stop this now, for the sake of the jury".

Pence added: "I would very respectfully encourage the special counsel and his team to bring their work to completion". "One year of Watergate is enough".

Pence was interviewed at Joint Base Andrews, where he and Trump early Thursday greeted three Americans returning from North Korea after being held in custody.

Mr. Trump's diplomatic success story came after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to North Korea for the second time since Easter weekend.
