Rangers announce signing of Scott Arfield on four-year deal”

Scott Arfield has officially been paraded as a Rangers player, and the midfielder has revealed he turned down interest to stay in England in order to join Steven Gerrard's revolution in Govan.

Arfield spent five years at Turf Moor - playing 194 games for the club including 20 appearances last season - but has now signed a four-year deal at Rangers.

"Celtic have had it their own way for far too long", added Gerrard, who will bring former Anfield team mate Gary McAllister to Ibrox with him as his assistant.

Arfield has also played for Canada 12 times during his career after making his global debut in February 2016, despite originally representing Scotland's Under-21 side 17 times previously. He is a talented and competitive midfielder who has competed at a high level in the English Premiership and internationally for Canada.

"Obviously we've begun today with the announcement [about Arfield joining] and we'll see what manifests itself over the coming months now".

Brendan Rodgers' side won their seventh consecutive Scottish Premiership title this season and can complete an unprecedented successive domestic treble if they beat Motherwell at Hampden Park next Saturday in the Scottish Cup final. "There is much more to be done of course as we look to build towards our Europa League campaign which will start in early July".

"When you look at the style of football that Jurgen Klopp plays, I think every fan in the world loves watching that", Gerrard said.
