Dallas Cowboys player arrested after Lamborghini crash”

Now, Wright's name has come up regarding an incident where former Baylor receiver Terrance Williams is trying to explain what happened following a vehicle registered to the Cowboys pass catcher was involved in a collision with a light pole and arrested on a public intoxication charge as described on the Pro Football Talk website.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident in which Williams' Lamborghini crashed into a light pole not far from the Cowboys' practice facility.

According to the police report, there was no driver present when the auto was found at 4:41 a.m., but police determined the vehicle was registered to Williams and went to his home in a nearby gated community. He released a statement later that day that contradicts his claim Wright was driving.

Williams issued a lengthy statement after the arrest Saturday saying he swerved to avoid crashing into another vehicle in front of him, and was headed back to the scene to pick up his auto.

Williams went on to tell the officers that he'd been at home the whole night and only headed out after his friend, Minnesota Vikings receiver Kendall Wright, called him and told him that he'd wrecked the sports auto.

The general manager of the Minnesota Vikings, who Wright now plays for, told ESPN there was "no truth" to the claims that Wright was at fault for the crash.

When they found Williams, as documented in dash cam and officer body cam footage, he was riding a white electric bicycle in the 2400 block of Rock Creek Parkway near the gated Frisco community in which he lives.

Attorney: Cowboys wide receiver Williams misspoke about crash

The police report states that Williams told the cops he was just "driving down the street and he fell" off his electric bike. "Anytime you hit a curve going about 60 miles per hour and he struck his head, I don't know, but we're going to find out".

The gate attendant told Officer Steve Byrom that Williams had arrived as a passenger in a vehicle 10 to 15 minutes before police arrived.

"Kendall Wright", Williams said. Police found Williams' cell phone in the wrecked Lamborghini. Wright now plays for the Minnesota Vikings. "I swear to God I would not try to lie to you".

The video shows Williams falling off the bicycle and be questioned by police officers.

ESPN NFL Nation Vikings reporter Courtney Cronin is reporting on Twitter that Minnesota General Manager Rick Spielman has already spoken with Kendall Wright regarding the matter and are not too concerned with the Williams story. Common sense demands that after your friend crashes your auto, and you're so hammered drunk you can't spell your name, the first thing to do is take the keys back and put them in your pocket.

He went on to describe himself as an "upstanding citizen" and said he handled the situation in the best way he knew how.

For now, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is standing by Williams, but it sounds like that could change since Jones' trust was based largely on Williams' original statement that no longer appears to be completely true.
