British former foreign secretary challenges PM’s Brexit plan

British former foreign secretary challenges PM’s Brexit plan”

"If we all go off in different directions in pursuit of our own visions of the ideal Brexit, we risk ending up with no Brexit at all", May said in a warning to Johnson and others who aim to oust her or force her to change course.

But did it succeed?

Dancing onto the stage to the tune of Swedish pop group ABBA's hit "Dancing Queen", May mocked herself, jokingly saying if she lost her voice it was because she had been up half of the night super gluing the stage set.

A country of austerity, zero hours contracts, huge student debt, ridiculous rent and house prices, terrible public transport, environmental damage, and social destruction, not forgetting adding a £1trillion to the National Debt, and Bob says we should be anxious about Labour.

"My support for her is wearing thin to the point of being invisible".

She did not use the word "Chequers" - the name of her country residence where the plan was agreed by Cabinet in July - but aides insisted that this was not meant to signal any shift away from her blueprint.

Abbott, the former Shadow Home Secretary whose image was used in the 2017 election campaign by Conservatives very happy to leverage racist and misogynist disapproval of Abbott, in order to win votes, wasn't impressed. Debt will go down, she said. Would Jim Callaghan... ask the Russian government to confirm the findings of our own intelligence department?

"Would Clement Attlee, Churchill's trusted deputy during the Second World War, have told British Jews they didn't know the meaning of antisemitism?"

Rejecting calls for another European Union referendum, May said the Government was committed to delivering on the result of the first one.

She added: "What has befallen Labour is a national tragedy".

"A large section of the country thinks he is a clown", he said.

Johnson, who became the figurehead for the campaign to leave the European Union, has been one of her loudest critics, describing her plans to keep close ties with the bloc as "deranged" and little more than a bid to turn Britain into a vassal state. It is a political choice made by the Conservatives to hack away at our public services and communities, leaving workers worse off while gifting huge tax cuts to big business.

British Prime Minister Theresa May has declared the age of austerity over with a message to voters that "there are better days ahead". If this is her rendition of unity, we'd all do best never to see what May's discord looks like.

Conservative lawmaker Phillip Lee, who resigned from the justice ministry in June over the government's handling of Brexit, told a packed pro-EU event on the sidelines of the party's annual conference that the ministers had told him so in private conversations.

May urged her fractious Conservative Party to unite behind "decent, moderate and patriotic" policies, a day after her rival Boris Johnson trashed her Brexit plan and challenged her authority with a crowd-pleasing speech of his own.

The Conservative Party has spent the conference showcasing its divisions and May was obligated to try to paper them over. We are entering the toughest part of the negotiations... We need a strong leader, someone who believes in Brexit and someone to deliver what the electorate voted for. "Too many people are standing up and criticising her but they dont have an answer to what they would do".

And then came the policies.

Mrs May said: "There is a government cap on how much they can borrow against their Housing Revenue Account assets to fund new developments".
