Roger Federer warns Nick Kyrgios over work ethic after Shanghai Masters fiasco

Roger Federer warns Nick Kyrgios over work ethic after Shanghai Masters fiasco”

Nick Kyrgios's late season slide has continued after the Australian lost in the first round of the Shanghai Masters.

Nick Kyrgios is under fire again after an umpire questioned his "borderline" effort at the Shanghai Masters.

Ranked 104 in the world, Klahn presented few problems for Kyrgios in the first set and he looked on course to take out the match.

Kyrgios then smashed an ace and turned to Dumusois to sarcastically ask "was that borderline poor?" and was rebuked.

Wawrinka had chances - he had two break points at 3-3 in the second set - but Coric secured his first ever victory over the Swiss having won the first four games in the decider.

However, during the second set, Kyrgios wasted a golden chance on serve when he was down 4-5, and Klahn pushed the match to a deciding set.

He later cautioned the umpire for his comments towards him.

The 23-year-old Kyrgios made yet another contentious exit on Monday after a running argument with the chair umpire, appearing at time disinterested in his three-set loss to American qualifier Bradley Klahn.

Kyrgios threw a mini temper tantrum in response, telling Dumusois: "I don't care, bro".

"He needs to do like any other player needs to go through in order to be successful".

In 2017, he copped a $10,000 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct during a match against American Steve Johnson.

It's the third year on the bounce in Shanghai that Kyrgios has departed the tournament in controversial circumstances.

In 2016, Kyrgios patted the ball over the net several times when serving and began walking back to his chair before a serve from opponent Mischa Zverev had landed, leading to boos from the crowd.

Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has found himself in hot water yet again, following a freakish outburst at the Shanghai Rolex Masters. for the fourth year in a row.

During last month's US Open, an umpire copped a ban after he gave Kyrgios a freaky mid-match pep talk.

Kyrgios has recently lost his status as Australia's No 1 to Alex de Minaur.

The win over Tiafoe has left Ebden facing a tough second round encounter against world No.7 Dominic Thiem.
