Billy Vunipola out of November games with broken arm

Billy Vunipola out of November games with broken arm”

Now there are bigger problems for Jones ahead of the November 3 date with Rassie Erasmus' Springboks at Twickenham, as giant No 8 Billy Vunipola has been ruled out with injury yet again.

Billy Vunipola will miss England's November internationals after the luckless Saracens number eight fractured his left arm.

Saracens and England will also be waiting on Nick Isiekwe's fitness after he suffered an ankle sprain in the game at Glasgow while Mako Vunipola's progress will be monitored after he strained his calf.

This time it's his left arm, having suffered the injury in Saracens' win over Glasgow on Sunday. He missed the 2017 British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand after shoulder surgery, then serious knee trouble and two consecutive right-arm fractures denied him yet more test honours.

The 25-year-old needs surgery and will be out of action for up to 12 weeks.

Wasps No 8 Nathan Hughes' status for the autumn Tests is uncertain as he faces a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday for punching Gloucester's Lewis Ludlow.

Elsewhere, Bath full-back Anthony Watson and Exeter forward Sam Simmonds are also confirmed absentees.

It put in doubt the powerful forwards' participation in their country's forthcoming global matches, including against Australia at Twickenham on November 24.

Eddie Jones names his squad for the November games on Thursday.
