Liberian President Weah’s son joins Celtic on loan from PSG

Liberian President Weah’s son joins Celtic on loan from PSG”

"I haven't played as many games as I'd like to", admitted the £15million man.

"It was a great feeling getting to know a new team and new coaching staff".

Weah revealed he received "a lot of offers" once he made it known he wanted to go on loan, but "one offer stood out and that was Celtic".

'I am in love with Celtic so I am really happy, ' he told BBC Scotland.

Weah's father George - who is now President of Liberia - also played for PSG and had spells at AC Milan and Chelsea. "He's hungry too", added Rodgers, who has won the title twice with Celtic.

That could see Odsonne Edouard move out to the left wing, a position he is very familiar with having played there to allow former star Moussa Dembele to play centrally last season.

PSG allowed the 18-year-old Weah to leave on the day he signed a contract extension with the French team until June 2021.

The USA global signed a one-year contract extension with PSG to remain there until 2021 before making the move to Glasgow and Weah says he knows in his "heart" that this is the best stage for him to continue his development.

"I know I'm going to develop and become a better player under him if I listen and work hard".

The USA global posted a picture of him in a Celtic strip on Instagram and both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were quick to wish him luck at his new club. I have so much more to give and improve on. I feel like being at Celtic now is the place for me.

Celtic are being linked with a number of players this January as Rodgers looks to bolster his squad ahead of a run in which will see his side competing for three major honours, after already claiming the League Cup late in 2018.

Let us know in the comments.

Weah, restricted to only two appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season, joined up with his new team-mates on their Dubai warm-weather training camp and wants to make an impact during his short-term stay.
