It's still the early phase of his cricketing career, but Hardik Pandya has found himself in the middle of a deep puddle following the controversial remarks that he made about women on the famous talk-show, Koffee With Karan. The two are outseated from the first match. Furthermore, BCCI's Committee of Administrators (COA) chief Vinod Rai has recommended a two-match ban for Pandya.

The comments made by Rahul and Pandya were unanimously deemed to be "sexist" and "misogynistic".

Pandya and Rahul appeared on the talk show on Sunday where their comments - Pandya's in particular - came in for widespread criticism and raised concerns over the team culture.

"Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show". The Indian cricketers also had to face the rage of the BCCI who issued them show cause notices for their derogatory comments made on women in the show.

On the show, when the host Karan Johar asked the bowler, "Why don't you ask women's names at nightclubs?", he replied, "I like to watch and observe how they move".

"I made an appearance on the chat show where I have made certain statements without realising that these could be disrespectful and offend sensitivities of viewers for which I am sincerely regretful", stated Pandya's response, as quoted by PTI. With suspension pending inquiry, it remains to be seen now if Rahul and Hardik stay with the team or they are sent back home.

"The two concerned players have felt what has gone wrong and they have understood the magnitude of what's happened".

As for Rahul, considering that the cricketer didn't make any indecent remarks, it is being said that he may be left with just a warning. "We, as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers, do not support such views", Kohli said ahead of the first ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

"Yesterday, and some time before that as well, we have all been waiting for a decision by the board".
