Chris Brown held on Paris rape charge”

Chris Brown has been arrested after news broke of a rape allegation brought against him in Paris.

Brown was detained Monday on potential charges of aggravated rape and drug infractions and remained in custody Tuesday, a judicial official told Associated Press.

The woman who filed the complaint said she met Brown and his friends overnight January 15-16 at the club Le Crystal in the 8th arrondissement near the Champs-Elysees, and then they all went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel near the Concorde Plaza in central Paris, according to the official.

Another source stated, "A total of three men were arrested at Mr Brown's hotel".

The French edition of Closer magazine reported that the woman had accused Brown of raping her at the Mandarin Oriental hotel.

According to a police official, one of those detained is Brown's bodyguard and the singer has been in police custody since Monday.

The woman is also said to have accused Brown's bodyguard and another friend of the singer of abusing her.

Brown's publicists at Sony Music have not commented at this time, PA report.

Brown has in the past landed himself in hot waters for violence against women: he pleaded guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend, Rihanna and model Liziane Gutierrez had also claimed that he punched her in the face.
