Thrown Teddy Bear Earns Technical Foul, Decides Basketball Game”

A Mississippi State player was sent to the line and missed the first free throw.

Georgia coach Tom Crean was upset the technical foul was called with no warning. Weatherspoon banked the free throw the second time around and Mississippi State won the game 68-67. After missing the first, an adorable and cuddly stuffed animal skidded across the court.

Cream later said he had 'never seen that, not without a warning and certainly without an explanation'. It was too late to save Georgia from the technical foul.

That's what happened Wednesday night during Georgia's game against visiting Mississippi State.

The game was tied 67-67 with 0.5 seconds left when Mississippi State's Quinndary Weatherspoon was awarded two free throws after being fouled by Jordan Harris. The reason? A stuffed animal was thrown onto the floor. "I can't imagine who did that, but it was not smart". He thought maybe with one fewer free throw, Weatherspoon might have missed, and the game could've went to overtime. After he purposely missed the final free throw, Georgia did not have enough time to get off a shot before the buzzer sounded.

"We were blessed and fortunate".

Georgia fell to 10-16, 1-12 in the conference with tonight's loss. The shot capped an impressive comeback after the host Bulldogs trailed by 17 points early in the second half. Mississippi State then had the ball and attempted a 3-pointer but got fouled.
