Ex-Arizona, NBA player Mike Bibby accused of sexual misconduct”

Former NBA guard Mike Bibby is under investigation following allegations of sexual abuse, according to a report from The Arizona Republic.

The school district was conducting an internal investigation into the accusations when police launched a probe, district spokeswoman Becky Kelbaugh said in the statement. The woman, who did not report the alleged incident to the school until February 13, was granted a restraining order against Bibby, the head basketball coach, last week, the newspaper reported.

After she managed to slide out from under him and walk towards the school entrance, he pursued her, according to the restraining order.

The woman was granted a restraining order against Bibby by Phoenix Municipal Court on Friday, according to The Arizona Republic, which obtained a copy.

"What I could do to you", Bibby told the woman as he rubbed his body and genitals on her while groping her, the document states.

Bibby's attorney, Donald Harris, said he could say 'with pretty much certainty this alleged incident didn't happen and that will be shown down the road.

Harris denied the allegations, saying Bibby "did not participate in a sexual assault of any way, shape or form".

After a 14-year NBA career, Mike Bibby returned to his Arizona high school and won four state titles in six seasons as the boys' basketball coach.

Phoenix police told ABC15 Monday that they were recently made aware of allegations involving staff at Shadow Mountain High School.

In the paperwork, the teacher says she was outside with several coworkers when Bibby pointed at her from his auto and asked her to come talk.

Bibby played 14 National Basketball Association seasons from 1998-2012.

Bibby played for Shadow Mountain and went on to lead the University of Arizona to the NCAA championship in 1997.

According to a protective order issued Friday that was obtained by ABC15, the woman filed a formal police report February 12. But the teacher wasn't interested, she said, and told Bibby to stay away. He asked her if she was going to "tell" and she said no because she was thinking of his players.

"We take all allegations of misconduct very seriously and work in cooperation with law enforcement on all police matters", she wrote.
