Meghan appointed to new role at Queen’s Commonwealth Trust”

During a discussion at King's College London, the Duchess sat alongside singer Annie Lennox, former Prime Minister of Australia Julia Gillard and Gurls Talk founder Adwoa Aboah to discuss a number of issues facing women in today's society.

When asked by the event's chairwoman and senior editor of The Economist Anne McElvoy if she looked at Twitter, she said, "No, sorry no". It is much safer this way, but equally, that is just my own personal preference, because I believe positive or negative, it can all just feel like noise to a certain extent, as opposed to getting muddled with that to focus on the real cause'. Meghan's announcement about not engaging with social media comes just days after the Royal household revealed that it would block those on social media who target the royal family in an unsuitable way.

"I don't read anything", she said.

Britain's Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, leaves after an International Women's Day panel discussion at King's College London, in London. Things like that, that are really talking about how the role of women is really shifting and changing.

"So boy for girl, whatever it is, we hope that's the case with our little bump".
