R. Kelly Released from Jail

R. Kelly Released from Jail”

R. Kelly was thrown into a cell after he failed to pay his ex-wife, Drea Kelly the $161,000 he owed her in child support.

Grasping a white manila folder with his right hand, he gesticulated with his left hand, saying, "I promise you we're gonna straighten all this stuff out".

And as he walked out of jail, Kelly had words for the cameras and media members that gathered there to document his freedom, too.

On Feb. 22, he was taken into custody there after state prosecutors charged him with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse.

The musician faces several sex abuse charges

The singer had been prepared to pay up to $60,000 of what he owed to his former wife, Andrea Kelly, and their three children, but the judge had required the full amount and ordered him detained. The hour-long special, titled The Gayle King Interview with R. Kelly, notably showcased an interview with the "Ignition - Remix" singer that featured him passionately defending himself against various accusations, including that he held women against their will.

The indictment accuses Kelly of sexual acts with three children older than 13 but younger than 17; there is no age range listed for one alleged victim. During his interview on "CBS This Morning", he became quite emotional when talking about his children. "I'm not really fighting for my career here - I'm fighting for my rights and I'm fighting to have a relationship with my kids, more than anything, because I missed a lot of years of their life. I've been hearing things and seeing things on the blogs, and I'm just exhausted", he said in the interview, adding that the things that bother him the most include "that little girls trapped in a basement, helicopters over my house, trying to rescue someone who doesn't need to be rescued because they're not in my house". "Forget the blogs, forget how you feel about me", he added. I bet my breath on it. "[But] they're pressured [not to see him], and I get it".

The singer spent a weekend in jail after his arrest last month and was not freed until a 47-year-old suburban Chicago business owner posted $100,000 bail.

"So many people have been stealing my money".
