'He said, he said' - Who can you trust in Cohen-Trump saga?”

In response to Trump's tweet, Cohen wrote on Twitter: "Just another set of lies by @POTUS @realDonaldTrump".

That statement later appeared to contradict remarks made by Cohen's own personal attorney. And Davis then allowed in a written statement Thursday that his client was "open to the ongoing "dangling" of a possible pardon by Trump representatives privately and in the media" in the months after the Federal Bureau of Investigation raid.

But regarding Cohen's pardon testimony, Lane said he could "see it either way" on whether Trump or Cohen was being truthful, adding that Cohen could have gone to "intermediaries" instead of the president.

Trump said on Friday Cohen told a number of lies, including about wanting a job at the White House and the pardon.

"Bad lawyer and fraudster Michael Cohen said under sworn testimony that he never asked for a Pardon", Trump said in a tweet.

Cohen's spokesman, Lanny Davis, said that Cohen's statement to Congress was technically true, as he had never personally asked Trump for a pardon, but rather had "directed" his lawyer to explore a pardon that was being dangled by Trump's legal team. He lied! Additionally, he directly asked me for a pardon.

"Mr. President. let me remind you that today is #InternationalWomensDay", Cohen continued.

He said he worked on the Moscow project for almost a year while Trump was running for president.

Cohen arranged payments to Clifford, who goes by the stage name Stormy Daniels, and McDougal to prevent them from speaking publicly about alleged affairs with Trump.

Cohen spent three days on Capitol Hill last week in dramatic public and private hearings in which he apologized for lying to lawmakers and divulged what he said Trump knew about financial infractions and Russia's interference in the 2016 election.

Trump repeated this sentiment to reporters on Thursday, saying that Cohen's assertion was "a stone-cold lie". He is to begin a three-year prison sentence in May for crimes, including lying to Congress - lying to support Trump's own statements about his real estate efforts in Russian Federation.

On top of that, the House of Representatives moved to block Trump's declaration of a national emergency on the U.S. -Mexico border, and The New York Times reported that Trump had overruled intelligence agencies to demand his son-in-law obtain a security clearance, despite concerns.
