Alvin Gentry: Anthony Davis 'Got Some Bad Advice'

Alvin Gentry: Anthony Davis 'Got Some Bad Advice'”

While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, New Orleans Pelicans superstar forward Anthony Davis acknowledged there is still a possibility he could start next season in New Orleans. Davis also said that if the Pelicans found trade offers unsuitable this season and still had him on the roster when next season began, he'd continue honouring his contract.

Even though Davis said he can't be mad if he's still with New Orleans next season, he's still ready to not be with them and get traded to another team. "One lost his job and the other one resigned from his job", Gentry said Tuesday, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell, referring to ex-Pelicans general manager Dell Demps and now-former Los Angeles Lakers president Magic Johnson.

"Seeing what happens. Seeing who the Pelicans make their GM and having a conversation with that person about the future". And as he entered the arena ahead of the game, Davis may or may not have been sending a message to fans with the shirt he chose to wear. I love playing here. "It's something that I will definitely hold in my heart forever, but the next step is waiting on the Pelicans to fill the GM job".

The Pelicans finished 33-49, which guaranteed they'd finish better than at least six teams.

He eventually backpedaled from early indications and said he was open to being traded to "all 29 other teams" in pursuit of winning. "Amazing time here. Love playing here".

When asked if some of the business side of things could have been handled differently, he said, "I think in everything you do, there's always something to learn". You never know what might happen later in your career.
