Stanley Cup Playoffs: Twitter reacts after St. Louis Blues upset Jets”

The St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets first-round series has been a back-and-forth affair.

The Winnipeg Jets will look to stave off elimination and force a game seven after dropping game five at home on Thursday to St. Louis by a final score of 3-2.

St. Louis Blues' Robby Fabbri, left, and goaltender Jordan Binnington celebrate after defeating the Winnipeg Jets in Game 6 of an NHL first-round hockey playoff series, Saturday, April 20, 2019, in St. Louis.

The blown third-period lead that saw the Blues score the victor with 15 seconds left in Thursday's game should be ancient history by game time, the coach and players were saying. The Blues stole Game 5 and now lead the series 3-2. The Blues would have home ice if Dallas wins the series and open on the road if Nashville were to win. Re-directing a hard pass at his knees by Connor Hellebuyck with 15 seconds remaining, Schwartz set the table for himself to shine in Saturday's elimination contest by shocking the Jets with his late victor in Game 5.

"That got everybody buzzing", St. Louis defenseman Alex Pietrangelo said.

After Berube changed up his lines late in Game 5, winger Jaden Schwartz epitomized the Blues' season with his own furious comeback. It was a rare win at home, as it's the first time this series the home team has won. "You're down early, but you can probably count the interviews I've had with (reporters) that we say we're a resilient group, we've got character in here, and tonight's a prime example of that".

The Jets pulled Hellebuyck with 2:39 to play, but Blake Wheeler got a four-minute high sticking penalty 28 seconds later as he tried to prevent an Oskar Sundqvist breakaway.

That set up Schwartz's victor in the final minute.

"During last year's run, you go through the games and the importance. If we keep fighting here, it's not over". Tough to eat that one, but I thought we were the better team. "You can harness it right, you can get out and play with a little bit extra".

"Things are more fun when you're winning and we've been enjoying it", Binnington said. Lowry's goal was the fifth scored in the opening minute this postseason, tied for the most in the opening round of any playoffs. Winnipeg got a short-handed goal with 37.7 seconds to play by Bryan Little that made for an interesting final few seconds.
