Rescue underway after two trapped on lift in Oklahoma City”

Emergency crews rescued two window washers Wednesday who were trapped in a material lift basket that was spinning out of control and slamming into the side of Oklahoma City's tallest building.

Two people, believed to be window washers, were on the lift when it became loose and started swinging.

Crews responded to the Devon Tower in downtown Oklahoma City at around 7:45 a.m. local time. Video from the scene shows that the scaffold swung into the windows at one point as it swung out of control.

Fulkerson said he didn't know what floor the washers were on when the incident occurred.

Benny Fulkerson, spokesman for the Oklahoma City Fire Department, said there were "scary moments" before firefighters rescued the workers by lowering ropes from the roof.

The basket was seen crashing into the side of the building several times as it swung back and forth in the sky.

It was not immediately clear if either window washer was hurt.
