Tommy Haas: Novak Djokovic is controlling things now”

Struff was bidding to reach his first Grand Slam quarter-final and provided some early resistance in drizzly conditions on Court Philippe Chatrier. "Yes, I beat Serena, which was really good, but I knew that [Barty is] very tough and she's playing really well".

Novak Djokovic has become the first man to reach the French Open quarter-finals 10 years in a row.

Only Australian great Rod Laver has held all four majors at the same time twice before, after his calendar Grand Slams in 1962 and 1969.

Nishikori won 6-2, 6-7 (8/10), 6-2, 6-7 (8/10), 7-5 in a shade under four hours to reach his third last-eight match at the French Open.

Djokovic has not dropped a set at this year's Roland Garros.

He has already achieved that in 2015/2016 and it's unbelievable how he has been playing since last year's Wimbledon.

The seventh seed prevailed 6-2 6-7 (6-8) 6-2 6-7 (6-8) 7-5 to set up a daunting quarter-final showdown with titleholder and 11-time victor Rafael Nadal.

The 22-year-old German won their only clash on clay in the 2017 Italian Open final, and also beat the Serbian star in last year's ATP Finals championship match, winning comfortably both times 6-4, 6-3.

The victor of that match will face either last year's runner-up Dominic Thiem or big-hitting Russian Karen Khachanov, who knocked out Juan Martin del Potro in the fourth round.

Fourth seed Dominic Thiem is through to the quarter-finals for the fourth successive year after an impressive 6-4 6-4 6-2 victory over Gael Monfils.

Defending champion Simona Halep continued to tighten her grip on the French Open as she demolished Polish teenager Iga Swiatek to reach the quarter-finals on Monday. He has yet to play in a major semifinal, though, and mentioned Monday that he enjoyed getting to be a bit under the radar so far in this French Open, noting that 20-year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas, the sixth seed, was a subject of more focus until losing in the fourth round to Stan Wawrinka.

Thiem advanced by eliminating the last Frenchman in the field, No. 14 Gael Monfils, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2.

"I'm definitely happy I was able to close it out in two sets", Keys said after Siniakova sent a final shot long on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

The eighth-seeded Barty defeated Sofia Kenin 6-3, 3-6, 6-0.
