Vikings sign TE Kyle Rudolph to contract extension”

Rudolph stopped short of announcing a new contract agreement had been reached, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reported there is a deal in place for four years and $36 million. According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, Rudolph will officially put pen to paper on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, NFL.com's Tom Pelissero states that it is a four-year deal worth $36M, averaging out to $9M per season.

After months of uncertainty surrounding the status of his contract for the upcoming season, veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph gained some clarity on Monday evening.

On Monday night, the Vikings agreed to a contract extension with Rudolph that should keep him in Minnesota for the foreseeable future.

In 112 games over eight seasons with the Vikings, Rudolph has totaled 41 career receiving touchdowns, the most by a tight end and fifth most all-time in franchise history, in addition to 386 career receptions and 3,787 career receiving yards.

It certainly made sense to tie Kyle Rudolph to the New England Patriots.
