Giants vs. Dodgers lineups: Madison Bumgarner gets ball in series finale

Giants vs. Dodgers lineups: Madison Bumgarner gets ball in series finale”

Los Angeles first baseman Max Muncy hit a solo homer off San Francisco starter Madison Bumgarner, and the Dodgers won 1-0 at Oracle Park.

The fiery left-hander apparently yelled at Muncy, who had a witty rejoinder locked and loaded.

With two out and nobody on, Muncy launched a 426-foot shot into McCovey Cove.

After getting a hold of the ball, Muncy did what he usually does and dropped his bat and began walking to first base while admiring the majestic home run he just hit.

As Muncy trotted around the bases, he and Bumgarner exchanged words and gestures.

"Bumgarner said "don't watch the ball, run, ' and I just told him if he doesn't want me to watch the ball, go get it out of the ocean", Muncy said via FOX Sports" Joe Davis. Muncy added, "I definitely hope this doesn't turn into a [Yasiel] Puig thing, because I don't want that on my shoulders".

In saying "let the kids play", Bumgarner is referencing Major League Baseball's ad campaign which featured the league promoting hitters being expressive at the plate.
